Children’s Medical Aid Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of children in Nepal by providing surgical correction of birth defects. We help children born with handicaps and disfigurement avoids the stigma, shame and embarrassment that keep them isolated from school and community. Surgery offers these children with functional and aesthetic benefits, instantly transforming their future for a normal childhood and a brighter future. Who Do We Help? Many children in remote villages do not receive medical treatment due to geographical constraints, poverty, lack of medical supplies and trained personnel. We provide corrective surgery and therapy for indigent Nepalese with congenital defects ( ie: syndactally, disfiguring moles etc.)and post traumatic injuries. All people in need of our services regardless of religion, political believes, or cast will receive care.
How Do We Help? In 2009 we will provide educational opportunities for older children who need to be brought up to grade level so they can join their piers. Before corrective surgery they were not allowed in school. What do we need? We need to raise $25,000 to provide 100 children with surgery, follow up care and therapy. Our Vision
We provide the funds necessary to maintain the existing surgical program through contributions and fundraising events. Children’s Medical Aid is an all volunteer organization, there are no paid employees. 97% of all monies raised go directly for patient care. We support Model Hospital and the local doctors hosting our programs. Local Nepalese physicians and surgeons understand the needs of the young patients, the cultural differences and the political circumstances that play a role in delivering a sustainable, comprehensive program. By contributing to their efforts, we will be making a difference in the lives of the children they serve.
